Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview 

We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical principles and demonstrate proficiency in various engineering software tools. This role involves designing, analysing, and improving mechanical systems, ensuring they meet both functional and safety requirements.

Duties 

• Develop and create detailed schematics and designs using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.

• Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues within existing systems and propose effective solutions.

• Utilise Simulink and MATLAB for system modelling and simulation to optimise performance.

• Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure precise specifications in designs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system design projects from conception through to completion.

• Perform testing and validation of mechanical components in a laboratory environment using LabView for data acquisition.

• Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, test results, and project progress.

Experience 

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential.

• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, is required.

• Familiarity with Simulink, MATLAB, and LabView is highly desirable.

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in system design is preferred.

• Previous experience with root cause analysis techniques will be advantageous.

• Knowledge of GD&T standards is beneficial but not mandatory.
